At The Vine Naturals, we take pride in our soap making process. All of our butters are ethically sourced from Canadian based companies. With these natural organic oils, we begin the process of melting down the butters, adding the perfect amount of lye compound and whipping the butters. This process releases any lye left in the butters. The lye is a compound that aids in the joining of the oil and water molecules. Once the water and oil is joined, the butters release fatty acids which when met with the alkaline in the lye, transform into fatty acid salts and glycerol. These water soluble compounds aid in the collection of dirt when washing. To finish the process, we add a 100% natural blend of essential oil to increase the antibacterial properties of the soap. This step also leaves a soft, relaxing scent on the skin.
